Honoring Independence, Supporting Community
Where each resident's dignity and individual choices remain central to everything we do.
Back to HomeOur Story
everg ois began with a simple observation: many seniors wanted to maintain their independence while having access to support when they needed it, but found few options that truly balanced both needs. Founded in 2019 by a family who had navigated this challenge themselves, we created a residence that treats each person as an individual with their own preferences, routines, and right to make choices.
The name "everg ois" reflects our belief that life's possibilities continue at every age. Like the evergreen trees that remain vibrant through all seasons, our residents continue to grow, learn, and find meaning in their daily lives. The "horizons" represent the ongoing opportunities for connection, discovery, and personal fulfillment that remain available.
Located in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, our facility occupies a peaceful setting with accessible gardens and natural light throughout. We selected this location specifically for its combination of tranquility and convenienceāclose enough to medical facilities and family visits, yet removed from the noise and bustle that can make daily life stressful.
What sets everg ois apart is our commitment to treating residence here as your home, not an institution. Staff members receive ongoing training in respectful communication and person-centered support. We don't impose schedules or activities on residents; instead, we offer options and adapt to individual preferences. If you prefer quiet mornings in your room, that's fine. If you enjoy joining group activities, those opportunities exist. The choice is always yours.
Our team includes experienced staff who understand that aging doesn't diminish a person's right to dignity, privacy, and self-determination. We work collaboratively with families while always keeping the resident's wishes at the center of decisions. Regular communication keeps everyone informed, but we never discuss someone's situation without their knowledge and consent.

Our Standards and Approach
Safety and Security
Our facility includes secure access systems, emergency response protocols, and regular safety inspections. Staff receive training in emergency procedures while maintaining a home-like atmosphere rather than institutional feel.
Staff Training and Values
Team members complete ongoing education in respectful communication, cultural sensitivity, and person-centered care. We select staff who demonstrate genuine respect for older adults and understand that supporting independence is central to our mission.
Privacy and Dignity
We maintain strict privacy protocols for personal information and health details. Accommodations are treated as private homes, with staff always knocking before entering and respecting residents' schedules and preferences.
Quality Assurance
Regular assessments ensure we maintain high standards in meal quality, cleanliness, and service delivery. We welcome feedback from residents and families, using it to continuously improve our operations and address concerns promptly.
Nutrition and Meal Standards
Our kitchen prepares meals using fresh ingredients, accommodating dietary restrictions and cultural preferences. Menus are planned with nutritional balance in mind while prioritizing taste and variety. Residents can provide input on menu options.
Family Engagement
We encourage family involvement while respecting resident independence. Visiting hours are flexible, and families can participate in activities if residents wish. Regular updates keep families informed without violating privacy or making residents feel monitored.
What Guides Us
At everg ois, we believe that aging is a natural part of life's journey, not a problem to be solved or a condition to be managed. Our approach centers on recognizing each resident as a whole person with decades of experience, established preferences, and the right to make their own choices about daily life.
We understand that moving to a boarding house represents a significant transition. Some residents come seeking relief from the burden of home maintenance. Others want the security of knowing support is available if needed. Many appreciate the opportunity for social connection without the isolation that sometimes comes with living alone. Whatever brings someone here, we work to make the adjustment as comfortable as possible while honoring their individual reasons and concerns.
Independence takes different forms for different people. For some, it means choosing to participate in group activities. For others, it means having the privacy to spend time alone. We provide both options without judgment or pressure. Activities are invitations, not obligations. Meal times offer flexibility within a general structure. Housekeeping accommodates personal preferences about when and how often service is needed.
Our staff members are trained to notice when someone might benefit from additional support while being careful not to assume or infantilize. If we observe changes in a resident's abilities or needs, we discuss these observations respectfully with them and, with their permission, their family. Any adjustments to services or accommodations are made collaboratively, with the resident's input carrying the most weight in decisions that affect their daily life.
The physical environment supports both community and privacy. Common areas provide spaces for socializing, activities, and shared meals. Private accommodations offer retreat and personal space. Gardens and outdoor areas are accessible and safe, allowing residents to enjoy nature independently. The layout avoids institutional aesthetics in favor of comfortable, home-like spaces that residents can personalize.
We recognize that cultural background, personal history, and individual values all influence what makes someone comfortable. Our staff includes people from various backgrounds who bring cultural sensitivity to their work. We accommodate religious practices, dietary customs, and personal traditions as much as possible. The goal is for residents to feel they can be themselves rather than conforming to a single institutional culture.
